My Journey to Wellness Coaching

My Personal Health Story

Growing up I was a very active child. I was always on the go and loved every minute of it. I loved sports, and played as many as I could. I also took on as many active challenges as possible. Camping, hiking, snowboarding, and wakeboarding were just a few of my family’s favorite pastimes.

Then, during freshman year of high school at water polo practice I unexpectedly passed out on the pool deck. I was sick for months, saw multiple doctors and the conclusion drawn was a stomach virus that I was told would soon heal itself.

Struggling to understand what was happening and why, I did my best to handle what was thrown at me. I did everything I could to continue my active life, while still dealing with the pain and symptoms. After two years of this, at sixteen years old, I was diagnosed with fibromyalgia. It made sense but still didn’t explain even half of my symptoms and the severity of how sick I was.

Through the rest of high school, college, and my entire 20s, I dealt with extreme fatigue, headaches, migraines, nausea, vomiting, dizziness, vertigo, muscle pain, nerve pain, joint pain, limited mobility, compromised balance, extreme hypersensitivity to light, sound, smells, chest pain, numbness, weakness, upset tummy, bloating, intestinal issues, and the list goes on. I pursued every avenue I could find - specialists, MDs, eastern medicine partitioners, and holistic practitioners. Some therapies helped for a few weeks or relieved some of my symptoms, but eventually resurfaced. Nothing seemed to lead to a full recovery. In fact, I was slowly getting sicker.

Then, fifteen years into my health journey, I finally received a diagnosis that made sense and explained it all – Lyme Disease. Naturally, I was ecstatic to have a name behind all the pain and suffering, however it was not the end of the road for me. Yes, I had a diagnosis and yes there are ways to treat Lyme Disease, but I was now running into two huge problems. First, the Lyme bacteria has made itself comfy in my body for over 15 years – that’s no easy task to remove. And second, it’s never just Lyme Disease. I had essentially been poisoned for so long that my body had, in turn, created countless co-infections. So, now at 29 years old, I was faced with fighting Lyme Disease bacteria, Fibromyalgia, Polycystic Ovary Syndrome (PCOS), Leaky Gut, Mold Toxicity, Heavy Metal Toxicity, Chronic Fatigue Syndrome, and IBS. Thank goodness for my line of work, now that I know what I’m dealing with I know how to attack it.

Today, I am still working on healing my body. It takes time with these things, but I can tell you that I now know what works for me. I know the balance which is needed for healing while still living a full life. Some days look different than others. Different treatments and strategies have worked at different times and when dealing with multiple illnesses, your body is always changing and reacting differently to things. The one thing I do have is hope for a full recovery with a great team of practitioners.

Now, I tell my story here to give you hope, let you know you’re not alone, and give you comfort in knowing you can trust me to take seriously all symptoms you experience. I tell my story so you can be assured that I have not only extensively studied multiple avenues for the achievement of proper health, but I have also lived them. I can relate to the symptoms you are dealing with. And as much as I can never fully know any individual’s specific situation, I can empathize with and, more importantly, find solutions to the problems you are dealing with.

Through this journey, I have learned a TON about the body, through trial and error and collaboration with other specialists and practitioners. My experience has motivated me to serve as an advocate for others who are struggling in any way to maintain optimal health. Let’s work together to break the cycle of sickness rising all over the world, especially in the US. I am committed to doing everything I can to help you with your health goals.

My Values

My top 3 values are authenticity, integrity, and transparency.

I constantly strive to stay true to my values through every coaching session. The coaching process with me is real and raw. I set out to reveal all parts of an individual’s health and the factors that have contributed to it. My goal is to help every client be the healthiest version of themselves.

My Approach

I coach with compassion, flexibility, and understanding.

Every session begins with an evaluation of where your overall health currently is and where you want it to be. Each client’s journey is unique; therefore, my methodology varies. I do, however, remain consistent in my holistic approach. I look at health from all angles – fitness, nutrition, lifestyle and outside circumstances.

I am currently seeing clients in-office in Boise, Idaho. With the great use of technology, though, I am available to coach clients all around the world, providing the same level of attention as my in-person clients.

I am happy to call the Boise area my home for the last few years. I enjoy going to local restaurants and catching a hike in the beautiful foothills. Whether you are near or far, I am excited to work with you on your wellness journey!
